It's true! We've had 100 days of school already. The time is flying by us.As Willy Wonka said, "So much time, so little to see.. Strike that! So little time, so much to see!" We have many things to do in the next several months
February, in particular, will be full of activities as well as a Rodeo Weekend break. Please check the important dates, mark your calendars and take time off work for the ones you can.
As for January, we will continue to work on writing paragraphs with topic sentences, details and conclusions. In math, we are working on place value, time to the minute, fractional parts and measuring. We are continuing to read, read, read. Trying hard to get our reading scores up! Of course, Social Studies is full of events: Chinese New Year, President's day, Ground hogs day and more. All of these give us the opportunity to learn about traditions, cultures and government. In Science we will be learning more about the body systems. Stay tuned for more information for the busy weeks ahead and hang on! The time will fly by and soon you will have a third grader!
Happy Chinese New Year!

Happy New Year and welcome back!
Here we go again! I hope you all had a fabulous holiday and are well-rested and ready to go. We will be easing back into our regular routine this week. January is the month we focus a lot of our studies around snow. We will be learning about Snowflake Bentley, the Snow Maiden folktale and of course, snowflakes themselves! We will also be starting to learn about synonyms and continuing double digit adding and subtracting with regrouping and borrowing.
It will be great! Looking forward to a field trip in February and hopefully, April. More to come on that!
